INEF - Facultad de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deporte
The Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (INEF), of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, is the continuation of the National Institute of Physical Education and Sport, born from the imagination of José Maria Cagigal Gutiérrez, like a few centres that have emerged in Europe and the United States.
The Institute was created by the Physical Education Act of 23 December 1961, the "Elola Act", under the National
Delegation of Physical Education and Sports, occupying the facilities of the University City of Madrid, under the direction of José María Cagigal.
This Center, where a profession was born and today is demanded by our society, continues to look ahead, with several teachers involved in innovative and original research projects that are developed together with researchers from different departments of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and that open an industrial perspective to their studies.
